ABOUT THE PROJECT
Description
Casa Campo is a contemporary reimagining of the traditional Ibicencan finca. Situated in a rustic landscape, the residence consists of a series of interconnected white volumes that create a rhythmic play of light and shadow. The design philosophy centers on “Tactile Minimalism”—a space that feels modern and clean, yet warm and deeply rooted in Ibiza lifestyle.
Challenges
The primary challenge was one of Topographical Integration, necessitating a design that follows the site’s natural slope to avoid the environmental impact and visual scarring of heavy excavation. In tandem with the terrain, we addressed the complexities of Climate Regulation, balancing the client’s desire for expansive glass views with the critical need for thermal comfort under the intense Mediterranean sun

Solutions
To solve these challenges, we implemented Passive Cooling strategies by utilizing deep-set windows and natural timber pergolas that provide organic shade while significantly reducing energy reliance. We addressed the sloping terrain through Volumetric Stepping, creating multiple floor levels that follow the natural topography to provide elevated views while keeping the house firmly anchored to the earth. Finally, we achieved Material Continuity by utilizing a unified palette of micro-cement and local stone, creating a seamless, uninterrupted flow between the indoor sanctuaries and the outdoor living spaces
