ABOUT THE PROJECT
Description
Ca na Sofia is a comprehensive landscape intervention designed to transform an Ibicencan estate into wellness, agricultural production, and social connection by integrating raw, natural materials with the existing topography. The design creates a sequence of outdoor “rooms” that serve as a natural extension of the island’s botanical heritage, utilizing a palette of native flora to anchor the architecture.

The Design Solutions
The landscape response utilizes a zoned approach to create distinct micro-atmospheres:
Safareig & Wellness: A naturalized pool area inspired by the traditional Safareig (irrigation pond) and a Jacuzzi are surrounded by lush vegetation for privacy.
Ágora de Fuego: An intimate, stone-carved fire pit area designed for evening social interaction and reflection.
Wooden terrace: Timber platforms are strategically placed throughout the plot to capture views and sun-path, providing dedicated spaces for yoga, meditation, and “barefoot” relaxation.
BBQ Area:: A central dining and Barbacoa area situated under a traditional timber pergola, creating a hub for Mediterranean gastronomy.
Mediterranean Flora: The landscape is anchored by fruit trees, while pathways are lined with aromatic Lavender and Rosemary.
Climbing species like Bougainvillea provide organic shade against the white masonry.
